Church of St Michael, Seavington St Michael, Somerset
Reordering and installation of underfloor heating

The church was damp with a rotten floor, and heating was an expensive all-electric system. The church was reordered, including the removal and refitting of the bench seating on adjustable fittings fixed to a new stone floor. A new under floor heating scheme is driven by an air to water heat pump. The heating is on constantly through the Winter to maintain a comfortable temperature, with very low running costs (£2.60 per day - including lighting). The works also included lowering ground water with a french drain, and the building was re-plastered with lime plaster and redecorated to relieve it of the problems associated with damp following inappropriate cement rendering. This is now a place of peace and comfort, always open and welcoming.
